Why I'm Creating Content About My Financial Challenge
I've just posted Episode 2 of the podcast. You'll find it linked on the podcast page of this site if you fancy having a listen. I'm feeling quite pleased with this one and believe it's an improvement on the first.
Confronting Self-Doubt and Finding Purpose
During a weekend drive along the coast, I found myself doing some soul searching. I really questioned the purpose of creating content around this challenge and whether it was worthwhile. The dreaded imposter syndrome certainly made an appearance! After careful consideration, I identified six compelling reasons for investing time and energy into this website, the blogs, articles and regular social media posting.
The Power of Accountability
By consistently posting content and discussing this challenge, I'm significantly more likely to persevere rather than abandoning it as 'too difficult'. This accountability extends both to people I know personally and to strangers who may have encountered my content. As someone who values integrity, I'm committed to following through on my stated intentions.
Inspiring Others to Take Action
If I could inspire just one person to take action, increase their productivity, or push their boundaries after engaging with this content, I'd consider that a success. My hope is that by succeeding in this challenge, I'll demonstrate what's possible.
Creating Future Opportunities
Should this venture prove successful, it could open doors to new opportunities. I aim to demonstrate how an ordinary person can accumulate enough wealth to achieve financial comfort.
Documenting the Journey
Creating a record of this experiment has inherent value. By maintaining this documentation, I'm constantly evaluating my progress (or lack thereof), which helps maintain focus and drive.
Fostering Personal Development
During my time with ALT (marketing), particularly whilst producing the "Monday Night Beers" Podcast and regular video content, I noticed significant improvement in my communication and speaking abilities.
The Financial Aspect
Since this is fundamentally a challenge about generating income, I hope this will develop into a revenue stream, even if modest. I've always been intrigued by sponsorship, brand deals and the exchange of attention for monetary value.
Looking Forward
Now it's time to plan the remaining eight episodes. I'd like to acknowledge Paul from Establish for today's call. We've known each other for several years, following each other on social media and having previous business interactions. It was brilliant hearing from him today and discussing the challenge.
This conversation provided absolute validation for what I'm doing here and reinforced my belief in both the small and large benefits that will emerge from this endeavour.
