Why This Entrepreneur Moved Home to Start a Business (Flynn Little)

After a decade in Australia, Flynn Little moved back to New Zealand to start a business. He teamed up with his best friend to create Sweet As Rewards. Now, they're on a mission to become NZ's best rewards site and change some lives along the way.

Flynn Little, founder of Sweet As Rewards, shares his journey from electrician in Darwin to launching a rewards-based business in New Zealand. After a decade in Australia, he moved back to NZ with his partner and teamed up with best friend Kane to create a platform offering memberships, rewards, and prize giveaways.

The business launched in December 2022, facing initial hurdles with payment processors and infrastructure. They've since run multiple successful promotions, giving away prizes ranging from cars to cash. Flynn aims to transition to a subscription model over the next year, recognising the value of recurring revenue versus one-off transactions.

Their marketing relies heavily on Meta advertising, though they're exploring influencer partnerships through affiliate models. Flynn emphasises the importance of organic growth and building genuine connections with their audience. The business differentiates itself through authentic, mate-to-mate content creation, with Kane handling video production while Flynn manages operations.

Flynn's ultimate 10-year vision is achieving complete financial freedom - not just for himself, but to support family and friends. He wants to remove any financial constraints that might limit his ability to help others or pursue new ventures. The business model is inspired by similar successful ventures in Australia, particularly Adrian Portelli's LMCT+.
