Shoot for the Moon (Sam Gibson)

As a teenager, Sam Gibson set out to start his business. He burned the boats so there was no going back. Overcoming his fear of cold calling landed him his first client. But with rent due and just a few dollars left, he needed that first invoice to be paid.

Sam Gibson started his entrepreneurial journey as a teenager, building a successful YouTube channel before transitioning into video production. After dropping out of school at 17 and briefly pursuing personal training, he launched his video business with just $2,000 to his name. A pivotal moment came when he was down to his last $10 with rent due, relying on an invoice payment to survive.

Today, Sam runs Impact Films, producing real estate content, alongside Impact Shorts with his business partner Graham. He's developing an education platform to teach video production and a real estate investment company. His current goal is to hit $1.5 million in turnover this year at age 22.

He's increased efficiency by streamlining his shooting and editing process, fitting in five property shoots per day instead of three, and batching similar tasks together. He's planning to expand by bringing on contractors under a revenue-sharing model.

Sam attributes his success to burning his boats early on, forcing himself to succeed. He emphasises the importance of surrounding yourself with like-minded people and setting ambitious goals. His philosophy is that nothing is impossible - once you reach a target, it becomes your new baseline.

Despite the demanding schedule affecting his fitness routine, Sam maintains that success requires periods of complete focus and imbalance. He's shifted from consuming educational content to implementing what he's learned, demonstrating that practical experience trumps theory.
