March 2023

I’ve set the timer for 10 minutes and committed to condensing the last month or so into a blog.

Weka / Rutherglen:

Construction is still on track to start next month (April) the plans / renders for Weka are looking amazing.

I’m excited about the furnishings for the existing property at Rutherglen. It’s daunting as I would like it to be beautiful from a design standpoint. I don’t want to blow the budget and I do have vision. It’ll be interesting to see if I can pull it off.

Money:

Now that the first 6 months of the challenge has been and gone I’m a little behind track (a lot) but that’s ok, it was expected. I’ve learnt a lot and feel like I’m slowly adjusting my mindset and working on my limiting beliefs around money.

Time / Energy:

I’m being very conscious of these two resources lately. Trying to manage them as best I can and trying to spend them being as productive as possible. The energy one especially. It seems like for me it is a gradient. I wake up with near on max energy and then it gradually declines throughout the day.

Side Hustles:

As the point above, I am struggling a bit here, there’s no limit to the ideas to pursue and saying no seems to be the hard thing at the moment.

Business Coaching:

I’m starting this soon with Marcus Shaw, someone that I’ve worked with in the past and respect a lot. Partly for accountability, partly for structure. It’s an investment but I think it’ll pay off.

Fitness / Wellness:

Fairly well dialled in at the moment, since finishing 75Hard I’ve been fairly loose when it comes to sweet treats and treating myself, I think that’s okay. Although I do feel I’ll use 30Flex to place some restrictions on my diet next month

30Flex:

Speaking of, it’s going well, around 20 members on board. A couple of fines / donations have been paid, I think the members are enjoying it, I know I am. It’s just a question of it it’s something to pursue and invest more time into or if it’s ok ticking a long, or if it’s a distraction, again, time will tell

Networking:

I’ve been lucky enough to meet some great people lately, I’ve also found myself slightly pivoting on who I spend time with.

Podcast:

Now that I’ve got two mics I’m ready to record in person episode with a guest which I’m excited about! I love having conversations with interesting people so I’m hoping that with the new equipment I’ll be able to capture some of content from people I spend time with.

The next months:

As I see the timer ticking down, I had better wrap this up. April will be a big month with Rutherglen coming online as an Airbnb, Weka starting. Emily and I have trip away planned to test out a comparable property to a Weka.

Structuring my health and fitness and meals to an extent is something I’m going to try, just to save the mental energy and knowing what’s coming up so I don’t have to think about it.

VA: Mary is doing a great job and I’m looking forward to continuing with her, working on refining the workflow and becoming more efficient.

ALT. It could be making a come back, not in the previous format but something I’ve been thinking about a bit lately. Partially based on demand, partially on some of the design work that’s being done for Weka / the David Melse brand.

Well that’s a quick 10 minute update, until next time.

Actually, one question I have if you’re reading this:

What challenge and goals are you working on? Big or small, I’d love to know. It’s interesting + inspiring to me….
