As I sit here in the cafe at Qe2 while Madison and a friend are swimming. I thought I’d check my blog out as it feels like it’s been a while since writing an article. Strangely enough, mid March is when I last posted.

I thought I’d do the same again, set the timer for 10 minutes and commit to an update. 

Ashamedly, reading back over last months summary, I feel like my mood and a few things have gone down hill in the last 4 weeks. I’m not sure what’s lead to this, I’m tempted to say “burn out” but I don’t think that’s it. Maybe I’m just being lazy. Listening to a podcast recently on this and defining the differences. I think it’s probably just lazy.

Whatever it is, I haven’t felt productive and haven’t made f&*k all progress. But that’s enough complaining. Here’s a summary of what has been going on:

Weka

On hold, things got weird with the builder / designer I had lined up and now I’m reassessing the whole project. It’s still something I believe in it’s just that my current thinking is that it might make more sense to divert those resources into a more traditional property purchase and either renting it out long term or Airbnb’ing it. Not sure TBC.

Rutherglen

Speaking of property though, the tenants have moved out of my property there and I’m in the process of setting it up as an Airbnb. Quite a bit still left to do before the listing is live but working on it.

Reading

I’ve noticed that my retention of information is VERY low so I plan on reading less titles but to go back and re read / make notes on books that I like and see value in. It’s actually quite a hard habit to install after going for shear volume over the last few years. 

Fitness

No real structure here, I have been trying to get in as many weights sessions as possible lately which has felt great. My last months 30Flex was 6 x Yoga classes in the month and a 1km minimum run / day. Huge mistake and threw me off a bit. Lead to the podcast on doing less which I am a huge advocate of. 

Relationship

Things with Emily are going really well, we’ve booked a trip to Melbourne next month, honestly it feels a little reckless when a lot of things feel up in the air but I’m going with the mindset that it’ll be an energy boost, an inspirational trip with different, big city energy and it’ll be a good break away from the day to day.

Current Strategy

I’m in the process of trying to do less at the moment and recenter, get back to a more energised mindset. Things like 30Flex, the Podcast, the VA project, ALT. That’s all on the back burner. For now. 

Overall

It’s crazy how 3 months can fly by. Although the beginning of the year / New Years Eve seems like a life time ago it has flown by. 

Well, that’s the 10 minute timer gone. Not a hugely positive or exciting update but it’s still getting posted. I want to be able to look back on this phase at the end of the 10 years and remember it. 

It’s also an attempt to do less thinking and more action / output.
