2024 Q2 & Q3 Update

Well, before you know it, we’re in November, I haven’t written a blog post since May and so it’s time to set the timer, engage “Do Not Disturb” Mode and do some writing!

Time is a weird commodity, although technically it’s the same, a minute is a minute an hour an hour. Those time frames can feel vastly different depending on what you’re doing. Eg a minute in the cold plunge goes fairly slowly as opposed to spending time with friends at a dinner, flies by.

Same with looking back retroactively, if I look back at the last post written May 11, 2024. So much has happened in the last 6 months although each month has flown by. It’s wild. I think there’s some science around the older you get the faster time feels to move. Something about the time being a smaller percentage of your life or something like that.

It’s an interesting experiment to look back on the last blog and ties in quite nicely to something that I’ve recently started which is getting up at 4:45am each Monday morning and then from 5am - 7am ish reflecting on the last week, doing some journalling, tracking some metrics, both business and health and fitness. Essentially trying to assess “was it a good week”.

The two qualitative metrics I’m really looking at are the “Mood” and “Confidence” scores. 1-10 is the range. It’s been interesting seeing how the data relates to these two scores, nothing that you wouldn’t expect so far. For example, more exercise and less drinking alcohol = a more confidence and a better mood.

This blog post here highlights the reason why I didn’t want a blog module installed on the new ALT. Website. Link here to check it out. I think it’s pretty awesome! Shoutout to Scott and the Team at Distinct for nailing this project, not only on budget but onetime, one month to be precise and with very little input from me. A couple of meetings and one photo, video shoot. Incredible. Such a market leading offering.

Crazy to think last blog, we were heading into Winter and now heading into Spring / Summer (apparently). Still a mixed bag weather wise.

Ran the Auckland Half Marathon, earlier this month, got excited and booked in for the Christchurch Full Marathon in April.

I do want to blog more regularly. Potentially once the new personal brand website goes live that’ll be a good catalyst. Maybe I add it to my monthly checklist. That’s a good idea and something that I’ve been able to use to get other habits getting done more consistently.

ALT. Is going well, funny how I thought my capacity was 10-15 clients. Now, it’s likely around the 30 mark. 21 currently that I’m grateful to be working with. All growth minded, ambitious and positive and it’s a real pleasure to spend my days largely around good people.

It’s actually one of the thoughts I’ve had recently about success. In that the definition is to spend the days with good people, one good day leads to another and then stacking those together leads to a good week and so on and so on.

I’m looking forward to finishing the year strong. It’s been a heck of a year all and all. Some challenges but mostly good.

Today’s quite a big day as I’ll be hearing if a property transaction confirms, if so which it is looking positive. It’ll be the first significant chunk of money made toward the $10m challenge.

Mainly baed on the subdivision of the land and turning one property into two.

More on that once it’s done + I have final numbers.

With the new website, podcast structure and format, they’ll be 4 x episodes of the podcast per month and one recap video on the challenge, the progress the nitty gritty details and how I’ve progressed that month. Even writing that down makes me feel a little uncomfortable, that’ll be a bit of pressure. I think in a good way.

As the timer is set to go off, I’lll wrap up the post but I will be back next month with a recap of Q4, 2024, an update on the blog, an update on the property transaction, a general recap of the year as well as some predictions for 2025.

I’ve already committed to a massive goal to generate $1m revenue via ALT. Which is quite a lift on this years revenue. I’ve learnt though, via a few Coaching Clients, not to aim small and not to always know how it’s going to come together.

I hope you’re well and if you’ve got any questions on anything or would like to connect, send me a message. I’d love to hear from you.
